New Checkering

   I was honored when asked to checker this stock, made for a Model 70 Winchester, by Alvin Linden.  This stock had definitely seen some use but was still in fine shape, considering its age.  Workmanship was first rate, as good as I have ever seen.

    The owner wanted a classic point pattern with mullered borders, cut 24 lpi, with an open diamond left around the barrel boss screw.

    He was very happy with the two grip panels and wrap-around forearm pattern.  For the cost of 16 hours of my time, he now enjoys his favorite rifle even more with its sure and decorative grip.
